about

‘Marvels beyond Madness’ is the highlight of the album. This is where all things culminate. The longest track on the album, the sounds reek of pure malevolence and horror. The action happens when he is confronted by a cosmic monster-like entity which is, throughout, a metaphor for the darkness inside him. The crux of the album becomes clear now which has all been about the need for acceptance and belonging. This frantic quest for a home has twisted his mind and soul towards the end. The ending lyrics of the song, “take all of me, show me your secrets, marvels beyond madness, break me apart”, is a fearless appeal to himself that now he is willing to lose everything and doesn’t fear death in order to belong to a home.

lyrics

On my land
Who's the butcher
Plague on the kin
Betraying your creator

Rage against the pigmentation
In your head up high the beckoning is real
No way home
Go awaken the slain today
Feed the ghost save your soul

Inside this shrinking fireball
The essence of reason dies
Burning, it's learning, it's turning me

Blood murder blood
Scream murder no

Rage against the bitter nature
Breaking the mind your way the Great Old Ones are near
No more fear
Go awaken the senses uncouth
Guide yourself into the ocean

Light a flame just follow your instincts
Give yourself away
Light a flame you're finally standing
On the edge of the world

Light a flame
Quit running away
Away from yourself
Light a flame
Stop running away
Away from your home

Reigning in darkness
Like your God but morbid

No face
No feeling
Boundless
Blind dreamer

Fathomless expression
All present ancestor

Take me
All of me
Show me
Your secrets
Marvels beyond madness
Break me apart

Light a flame
We're running away
Away from this place
Light a flame
We're running away
Away from your cell

Now where do we go from here
The knowledge is too much to conquer
There's nobody left to save
So we forget
